Attorney Ellie Bragg Cobb grew up in Monroe and graduated from Monroe High School. She received her law degree from North Carolina Central University School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ellie became an associate attorney of Perry, Bundy, Plyler and Long, LLP upon receiving her law license in 2015.

Ellie lives in Monroe with her husband, Will, who is a teacher and coach at Union Academy Charter School. Ellie is very active in the community, enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is an avid Tar Heel fan.

Lynn Raye is 68 years old and married to his high school sweetheart Sharon. They will celebrate their 49th wedding anniversary, Sunday, after Dancin' in the Clover on Saturday night. 


They have three children - Edward Lynn Raye, II (Chip) and twin daughters - Lesley Raye and Lisa Tarlton. They have been blessed with three very special grandchildren - Trey, Joshua, and Olivia.


In 1977, Raye started Commercial Piping and Fabricating. As the owner and CEO of Commercial Piping, he is still very involved with the company. They do specialty piping and metal fabrication in Union County and up and down the east coast. 


He is involved in many non-profits in Union and Anson counties. Health Quest and The Community Shelter are two that are really dear to his heart. He's enjoyed making Union County home, and have been the recipient of several awards over the years. The three he is most proud of are the Union County Man of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Union County Citizen of the Year. 


He is a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church, where he teaches the Adult Men's Sunday School Class, sing in the choir, and serve as Deacon and Treasurer.


He is active in the local community college where he served as the Charter Member Trustee and first Chairman of the Board. He currently serves on the NC Community College State Board as the chairman of the finance committee.
