Dee dee kaltsounis Dances her WAY to win the mirror ball trophy!

What an amazing night! An excited crowd and a group of local celebrities raised funds to support the Union Co. 4-H & Youth Development Foundation at the 8th Annual Spring Gala - Dancin' in the Clover held Saturday, March 18th at the Rolling Hills Country Club! Dee Dee Kaltsounis and her partner Charlie Kleto took home the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy after dancing a traditional Greek dance. Our 2nd Place Trophy went to Linda Geer & her partner Paul Montagnese and 3rd to Fred Underwood and his professional dance partner, Terri Beeson. Dee Dee was also Top Fundraiser and Jeff & Sherry Helms walked away with the People's Choice Award!

Each spring a select group of notable Union County residence participate in a friendly ballroom dance. This year the event had local celebrities: Tony Belk & Brenda McGuirt, Linda Geer, Jeff & Sherry Helms, Michael James, Dee Dee Kaltsounis, Paul Kaperonis, Chris & Latricia Letsinger, Steve Maher, Dr. Anne Radke and Frank Underwood, Celebrity judges included Rep. Dean Arp, Sheriff Eddie Cathey and Barbara Faulk, of the Union Co. Community Arts Council. Our event was emceed by Rep. Craig Horn.

Each celebrity is paired with a professional dance instructor from the area who provides 10 weeks of instruction to help their team try to swing, cha-cha, rumba and waltz their way to the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy!

The funds raised at this event become scholarships for summer camps, leadership building conferences, state conferences, 4-H Congress and other opportunities for 4-H members and other youth in Union County who need financial assistance.
