mission & vision
The Union County 4-H and Youth Development Foundation, a non-profit 501©3 organization was founded in 1998. The Foundation was established to develop financial resources sufficient to fund the activities and programs of the Union County 4-H and Youth Development programs of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension. The Foundation believes thatevery young person is unique with individual talents, gifts and an innatedesire to achieve. The ability of young
people to aspire to their full potential is only possible with
support from a community which believes in their
responsibility to support them in becoming successful
adults. The goal of the Union County 4-H Foundation is to
endow $300,000 which will earn interest each year for
programs and scholarships for Union County youth. The
Foundation has been able to send many youth to 4-H
Camp, 4-H Congress, 4-H Citizen Focus and other events
over the past 15 years.
To accomplish these goals, the Foundation hosts a
variety of events throughout the year, such as the
Spring Gala - Dancin' in the Clover, hosting an
annual Golf Tournament, organizing a Fall Festival for
the community along with other events and campaigns.
How Can I Contribute? Whether you live in an agricultural community, in the suburbs or in the urban areas of Union County, you're sure to know how the Union County 4-H enriches the lives of so many young people. The various programs 4-H provides are made possible by
the generous support of community citizens. Without the assistance of community-minded individuals, just like you, we wouldn't have been able to help over 7,000 youth in our community last year. There are many ways to contribute to the Union County 4-H Foundation. We are happy to accept cash donations, endowments, bequests, covenants, trusts or legacies. In addition to general contributions, we offer opportunities to sponsor various events throughout the year such as our annual golf tournament, our spring gala event and fall festival. Businesses or individuals may also sponsor any of the 4-H summer camp programs, provide scholarship money for youth to attend overnight or day camps or sponsor 4-H communications such as the annual report, general information packets and other printed materials.
