Providing life-changing opportunities to youth in Union County
Union County 4-H Foundation
Our Spring Gala Event, Dancin' in the Clover, is the 4-H Foundation's Signature Event. Each year a select group of notable Union County residence participate in a friendly ballroom dance competition. This year the event will have local "celebrities": Karl & Dana Lehnhardt, Baxter Starnes, Angelia James, Marianne Wescoat, Nancy McCoy Duncan, Don & Crystal Coleman, Frank & Angie Aikmus, Renn Farmer, Chad & Jennifer Whitley, Fred Howell and Blake Belk & Chloe Sganga. Each celebrity is paired with a professional dance instructor from the area who provides 10 weeks of instruction to help their team try to swing, cha-cha, rhumba and waltz their way to the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy!
"Celebrity" judges this year will included Rep. Dean Arp, Sheriff Eddie Cathey, Bonita Simpson of Bonita's School of Dance and Representative Craig Horn.
In addition to the competition, the event hosts a silent auction and provides musical entertainment by The Atlantic Groove Band. Our financial goal this year is $50,000. The funds raised at this event become scholarships for summer camps, leadership building conferences, state conferences, 4-H Congress and other opportunities for 4-H members and other youth in Union County who need financial assistance.
